Submissions

Thank you for considering a submission to Shorefront. Shorefront is a historical organization the collects, preserves and educates people about Black history on Chicago’s suburban North Shore.

Original Journal printed format

Shorefront Journal began as a four-page quarterly printed piece in the summer of 1999. Since then Shorefront released 35 issues with more than 60 contributing writers. The online journal takes its place with the goal of reaching a broader audience. You can download several PDF samples of the original Shorefront Journal at the Shorefront website.

Shorefront welcomes the work of novice and professional writers and will make every effort to assure timely consideration of submissions. Shorefront cannot guarantee a decision on posting of any submissions.

Annually, a selection of articles will be compiled into a printed journal for distribution. If your submission is selected, you will be notified and will receive a complimentary copy of the printed journal.
